Competitive Group Program

This program is designed for athletes ages 9–15 and follows the group size requirements set by Gymnastics Canada, with a minimum of 3 athletes and a maximum of 5 athletes per group.  Included within their registration, participants in the Competitive Group Program will also be part of the Performance Group Program.

The Competitive Group participants will train for a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes including 1 hour with a Performance Group.  Focus will be on teamwork, skill development, leadership, performance, and mentoring athletes in other programs within Monarch. Participants will also be required to be part of the Performance Group Program.

 

Classes will consist of:

  • Warm-up activities

  • Stretching and conditioning

  • Games and team-building activities

  • Learning rhythmic gymnastics movements to music

  • Using rhythmic equipment such as ribbons, hoops, balls, and other creative apparatus

 

Routines will be choreographed by coaches and will be performed at competitions.  Competition attendance is optional unless otherwise specified by coaches.  Competitions will be confirmed at a later date.  Please note that competitions may involve extra costs not included in your registration fees (see Competition section for more information).

 

In addition to competitions, participants will perform in the two club performances during the year, the Winter Production and the Spring Production.
